Help gorillas earn $25k through hit game
The Gorilla Organization is one of several wildlife charities in the running for a $25,000 cash prize after partnering with leading mobile game developer Gameloft.
Over the third week of June, a series of special characters, each one representing an endangered animal, will be introduced into the popular Dragon Mania Legends game. Each animal is then assigned its own ‘YouTube influencer’, video bloggers with large online followings. The YouTubers will encourage their followers to collect tokens on behalf of their chosen charity, with the charity earning the most tokens then winning the cash prize.
Celebrating the launch of the fundraising initiative, Gonzague De Vallois, Gameloft senior vice president of publishing said: “Mobile gaming offers great opportunities for activities like this. We can integrate the event into the game and donate money and raise awareness for great causes, while also enhancing the player experience.”
Also welcoming the development, Chris Perrin, Events Manager at the Gorilla Organization, said: “We are delighted to be part of this game, and hopefully we can win the most support and earn some vital funds to support gorilla conservation projects in Africa.”
To download the game and choose the Gorilla Dragon character, look for Dragon mania Legends on Facebook or on Apple iTunes. Players need to reach level seven of the game – a relatively quick and easy task – in order to unlock the special endangered species characters and start earning tokens for the Gorilla Organization.
