Join Team Gorilla and go ape in the 2019 London Marathon

Team Gorilla will be running in the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon – and you can join us!

The Gorilla Organization has been awarded eight places in next year’s marathon, which will take place on 28 April. As always, prospective members of Team Gorilla are asked to fundraise in the build-up to the marathon, with all the money going to support the Gorilla Organization’s conservation and development projects in Africa. Runners will be supported every step of the way, with training plans and fundraising tips to help you reach your targets.

Following on from last year’s remarkable success, in which he became the first person ever to crawl an entire marathon course, ‘Mr Gorilla’, is set to return in 2019. The intrepid fundraiser, who this year also hand-cycled the length of Britain in aid of the great apes, has urged people to join him in London next April. Follow his example and go the extra mile (or 26 miles) for gorilla conservation.

“Crawling the London Marathon was a truly bizarre but hugely rewarding experience,” Mr Gorilla, aka Tom Harrison, says. “I urge people to get push themselves out of their comfort zones and do what they can to help protect these incredible animals. Without our help, gorillas could soon be gone for good, so we simply can’t let that happen!”
