Join Team Gorilla at the 2018 Swim Serpentine in London!
Team Gorilla have five places in Swim Serpentine, a one-day open water swimming festival in the heart of London. The festival will take place in and around the famous Serpentine lake in Hyde Park on Saturday 22 September. The event has sold out, but the Gorilla Organization has five places for intrepid fundraisers.
We have three places in the One-Mile Swim event. Here, you swim one full lap of the Serpentine and most people take between 20 minutes and one hour to complete the course. We also have two places in the Two-Mile Swim event. This is a challenging two-lap swim in a beautiful location. Finishers of the two-mile Swim Serpentine event who have already run the Virgin Money London Marathon and cycled 100 miles in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 are eligible to receive a medal via the London Classics, one of the world’s great sporting challenges. Everyone who completes this iconic trio of events receives a specially-designed London Classics medal engraved with the words: Et ego Londinium vici (“I too have conquered London”) and will be listed in the London Classics Hall of Fame.
Participants should aim to raise £200 each in sponsorship. All the money raised will help support the Gorilla Organization’s conservation projects in Central Africa. There is also a £25 registration fee for the event.
